» Primary Schools (Key Stage 2)

» Secondary Schools (Key Stage 3)

What level of skill or ability is required?

There is not a specific skill level or ability to participate in The Cycle Coach school sessions.

The sessions focus on grass-roots cycling activities and follow a progressive syllabus. Riders will be given the opportunity to learn the basic bike-handling, core cycling and group riding techniques in a fun environment. All programmes are inclusive and open to anyone who can ride a bicycle unassisted.

The Cycle Coach Awards consist of three progressive programmes which can be delivered over a 6-week term.

Our awards are much more than teaching riders to ride a bike – its about:

» Helping riders to achieve their goals.
» Teaching new technqiues.
» Helping riders to improve their skills.
» Challenging riders to reach their potential.
» Having fun.

The Cycle Coach Awards have something for every pupil whether they are absolute beginners or already competing.

The Cycle Coach’s qualified British Cycling coaches are on offer to provide information and guidance to both staff and children on the pathways and options available to explore cycling further.

Beyond the sessions, we’d be keen to help you instil cycling as an accessible sport within the school environment. From training staff to coach activities through to inter-school competition and young volunteer programmes: there are many opportunities to open up.

We also work closely with several junior cycle clubs across London for any pupils that would like to further explore the sport of cycling in a more competitive environment outside of school.
